Drew Howick and Lloyd Buckwell to speak on change management and consulting techniques to help auditors develop skills for effective performance
Patina Solutions will have two representatives speaking at the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors' Annual John Carroll University Symposium on Monday, March 4, 2013.
This all-day symposium will provide attendees a wealth of information to empower them within their organizations. The speakers from Patina Solutions are Drew Howick, National Practice Director - Leadership & Organizational Development; and Lloyd Buckwell, Ohio Market Practice Director - Human Resources and Leadership & Organizational Development. They are conducting two classes on the event's professional development track as follows:
- Change Management - Leading and Sustaining Change
Leaders often lack the practical tools to plan, structure and execute a successful change. In this session, Patina Solutions will offer insights into the human dynamics of change management, discuss resistance and why change initiatives fail, and provide several tools to more effectively lead more productive, sustainable change efforts that benefit leaders, employees and customers. The class will be held at 8:30 a.m. and offers two Continuing Professional Education credits.
- Adding Even More Value to the Business: How Effective are Your Consulting Skills?
The success of consulting always depends upon the quality of the relationships that consultants have with their business partners. In this session, Patina Solutions will equip professionals with on-the-job tools and techniques to improve business acumen, strengthen partnerships, deliver better business results and drive sustainable change. The class will be held at 10:20 a.m. and offers two Continuing Professional Education credits.
The event is taking place at John Carroll University - Dolan Center, located at 20700 N. Park Blvd., University Heights, Ohio, 44118.

Drew Howick has an extensive background in leadership development, designing and facilitating planning sessions, helping organizations implement strategic changes and coaching leaders. He is the author of the book, The New Compleat Facilitator: A Handbook for Facilitators, and is a frequent speaker at conferences and conventions. Howick was founder of Howick Associates, a consulting firm based in Madison, Wis., that joined forces with Patina Solutions in 2012 to help leading organizations in developing talent, driving change and delivering results.
Lloyd Buckwell has more than 25 years of experience as a vice president of HR in international, domestic, corporate and divisional roles. He has led HR initiatives for small, mid-size and large corporations in a wide range of industries, both in union and non-union environments, and has directed all aspects of HR for facilities in Europe, China, Mexico, South America and the U.S. Buckwell's expertise focuses on coaching organizations on how to maximize the human capital needed to create profitable growth for the company and the individual employee and develops and implements HR strategies to align with organizations' business objectives.
