A major academic health system committed to excellent patient experience and continuous operational improvement identified key areas in the Cardiac and Transplant Surgery Departments requiring process and behavioral change. The organization needed a clinical leader who could collaborate with physicians, nurses and other clinical staff to standardize clinical processes and enhance the culture of safety and team collaboration.
Patina stepped in and delivered an interim leader to manage the Steering Committee and the Clinical Work Groups and execute the desired outcomes in the key areas of: safety, standardization of processes, education and training, preference cards, standardization of instruments. Patina’s professional, who had been an accomplished nurse leader and in a major academic health system, assisted this organization in managing the changes needed to drive the required successes.
Over a period of six months, Patina supported the clinical teams in designing the necessary infrastructure and clinical workflows to improve outcomes, enhance patient safety, reduce cost and improve growth.
